His expertise spans trade compliance, sanctions advocacy, specific licensing, unblocking applications, SDN-list removals, and federal sanctions-related investigations.
Mohsen combines his legal expertise, background in activism, and a passionate commitment to justice and due process for all—regardless of nationality—to thoughtfully address his clients’ needs and objectives within the U.S. legal system. His work reflects a strong dedication to fairness and accountability in navigating the complexities of U.S. sanctions law.
With years of focused experience in commerce and sanctions regulations, Mohsen provides trusted guidance to domestic, foreign, and multinational clients. He has advised businesses across industries such as agriculture, real estate, e-commerce, foodstuff, oil and gas, humanitarian aid, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, and aviation. His background includes significant contributions to promoting U.S. business interests within the context of U.S.-Iran trade diplomacy and the JCPOA negotiations, where recalibrated sanctions policies enabled economic détente.
A graduate of Howard University School of Law with a focus on international trade, Mohsen combines his academic training with practical experience. He served as a summer associate for Mylan, N.V. (now Viatris, Inc.) and as a research assistant at the World Food Law Institute. He also attended the 2018 Codex Alimentarius in Rome as a guest of the U.S. Delegation.
During his time at the University of Maryland, Mohsen was a prominent student leader and political activist, addressing critical issues such as the erosion of civil liberties and the overreach of U.S. foreign policy. These formative experiences shaped his dedication to justice and equity and continue to fuel his work in the realm of U.S. sanctions law.
